Testing the Switch & Sense 8 Relays
ICalUSB.exe provides the following test that you can perform on the Switch & Sense 8 to verify that its relay
functions are working properly.
You need to connect the external power supply to run this test. You also need an ohmmeter for this test.
1. Run ICalUSB.exe by selecting the
Switch & Sense 8
option from the
Programs►ComputerBoards USB
group on the
Start
menu.
2. Click on the Switch & Sense 8 node whose input channel filters you want to configure.
3. Click on the toolbar icon.

You can also access this feature by selecting
Test
from the
USB
menu.
The
Switch & Sense 8 Test
dialog opens.
4. For relay 0, make the connection specified on the dialog, and click on the
Relay 0
button.

The ohmmeter should show a reading close to 0 ohms.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the remaining relay contacts, using the
Relay #
button that corresponds to the relay
you are testing.
6. When all relays pass the contact test, click on the
OK
button to close the dialog.
What if one or more relays fail the test?
If a test of a relay returns an ohmmeter reading that is not near 0, click
OK
, check your external power
connection, and repeat the test on the relay that failed.
