Displaying Switch & Sense 8 configuration and status information
You can display configuration and status information for a specific Switch & Sense 8 by double-clicking on its
node.
The status field under each Switch & Sense 8 node reflects the results of ICalUSB.exe scan.
The table below explains each status category.
Status explanations
Status
Explanation
Configured
The device was added to configuration file but was not detected on the bus. A dialog opens with the option to
remove entries in this category.
Detected
The device is attached but was not previously entered in the configuration file. This device is
added to the configuration file on exit.
Installed
This device was previously entered in the configuration file and has been detected on the bus.
Initially the cbUsb.cfg file contains no device entries, so the device tree is created solely from detected Switch
& Sense 8 devices. On exit, the new configuration data is saved in the configuration file.
After a Switch & Sense 8 is detected, there are several configurations. Select the target Switch & Sense 8 by
highlighting its node in the device list. Move the cursor over the toolbar buttons to view the option in the status
bar at the bottom of the screen. Each configuration option is explained next.
Identifying a Switch & Sense 8
Use the identify feature to verify communication between a Switch & Sense 8 and your computer, and to
identify a specific Switch & Sense 8 when more than one is connected to the bus.
1. Click on the specific Switch & Sense 8 node.
2. Click on the toolbar icon.

from the
USB
menu.
The back panel LED next to the USB cable on the Switch & Sense 8 blinks ten times.
