2.5.2 Asynchronous Communications Setup

Associated with each serial port are a number

of parameters which

control the the transfer of serial data. These parameters, and the commands
used to set them, are listed in Table 2-4.

Number of stop bits; 1 or 2.

Baud Rate

Baud rate; 110 - 19200, or external.

Parity

Parity; even, odd, or none.

Data Bits

Handshake type; RTS/CTS, XON/XOFF, or none

Handshake Control Nn

Handshake control; automatic, hold-off, or accept.
