Setting Up the Scanner
To set up the scanner, proceed as follows:
1 Turn off power to the Profit Point Point of Sale (POS) terminal.
2 Unplug the AC power to the POS Distribution Box (D-Box) power supply.
3 Remove the scanner and the Metrologic cable from the shipping box.
Note: None of the other parts in the shipping box, including the scanner power transformer,
will be used with this installation.
4 Insert the phone jack end of the scanner cable into the phone jack connector on the scanner
(
Figure 1 on page 6 ).
5 Connect the DB9 connector on the scanner cable to the scanner port on the POS D-Box
(
Figure 1 on page 6 ).
6 Plug in the POS D-Box power supply to the AC outlet ( Figure 1 on page 6 ).
7 Turn on the Profit Point POS terminal. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen. The
Profit Point terminal initializes and begins the POS operations.
