Once you connect to the DCS-5300, you can drag and drop a camera into the
video area.

In the channel area, if you do not set up the camera, the color of the camera
number
will be gray. Once you set up the camera, the color of the camera
number
will turn to blue. You can drag and drop the camera into the video
area
, and apply other features if you have the privileges by logging on as an
administrator (admin).

There is a unique light signal above each camera’s number. This indicates the
status of the camera:

Off

Camera is not connected.

Green

The green light means the camera is connected.

Red

The red light indicates the camera is both connected and in

recording mode.

Blink

If motion detection is enabled, an alert occurs and the light will

blink.
