TEXT
(Text)
TEXT
Text string, alphanumerical. The max. string length is 256 characters, apart
from text strings in two-dimensional bar codes with max. 1024 characters.
The abbreviation "TEXT" defines an arbitrary alphanumerical text in the
command description. All numerical values in the text string are taken into
account in counter fields (example: in the text string "10A3B56" the
numerical value 10356 is taken into account in counter fields).
"#" in text
The command character (escape = # = 23hex) has a special function,
however. The command character "#" must be transmitted twice if it is to be
printed in a text.
Example transmitted character
in the TEXT parameter:
NO##NR
printed text:
NO##NR
Computation
When using a TEXT parameter in conjunction with a computation
(consecutive numbers), although all the characters in a text are printed,
"non-numbers" are ignored in the computation!
This means that all the numbers in the text are added up to a single value,
the computation is carried out, and the result is reset in the same position in
the text. The text length always remains unaltered.

Character code extensions
In order to represent national characters (e. g. umlauts), corresponding
standard ASCII characters are masked and replaced by national
characters.
Easy Plug has been extended with the IBM PC-compatible national
characters (which exceed the 7-bit data format).
National characters in the 7-bit data format continue to be totally supported
as previously.
Exception
¯
The IBM PC-compatible national characters in the range from 80hex to
FFhex are not totally supported.
