An immediate command is marked with an exclamation mark "!".
Immediate commands are not temporarily stored in the queue, but are
carried out immediately.
All other commands are put on the waiting list until the immediate
commands have been carried out, and are then processed in the order in
which they have been received.
Immediate commands can be implemented at any point – even within a
format.
