MANUAL EASY PLUG
All
devices
A print job consists of one or more Easy Plug commands, listed in a text
file.
The simplest way to start a print job is to send the text file, containing the
Easy Plug commands, to the printer. This can be done easily via copy-
command, using the MS-DOS window of Windows. Given the printer is in
on-line mode, it starts printing after few seconds of interpretation time.
Generating a text file To get the example programme into a text file, type it using a text editor
(cumbersome) or (easier) use the Adobe Reader text tool (1):
1. Start the Documentation-CD and click to the page containing the
programme example.
2. Click on the Adobe Reader text tool (1).
3. Use the mouse to pull a frame around the programme text.
4. Copy the text to the clipboard with CTRL+C.
5. Call any text editor. Detach the text from the clipboard with CTRL+V.
¯
Check if the copied text matches the original. Otherwise you will get error
messages!
6. Save the text file.
7. Open the MS-DOS window.
Send text file
8. Copy the text file to the interface used by the printer:
copy beispiel.txt lpt1
(Centronics-interface
selected)
Printing
The text file is now being sent to the printer. If the printer is in on-line mode,
material and ribbon are inserted and the material type is correctly set,
printing starts after a few seconds.
P For another example, read subject section “Description of Commands”,
