next in the “Used”
column header (see Figure 14). The disk usage will refresh and give an updated amount.
The “Target Mode” button allows you to view disks attached to the Ditto Forensic Field-
Station with third party data acquisition tools. The “Source Network” and “Source Desti-
nation” buttons are used for attaching iSCSI devices as well as NFS and SMB shares to
the Ditto Forensic FieldStation. For more information, see Section 11.
4.5.1 Previewing and Browsing Disks
To browse or download disk data, click on a partition’s number under the disk’s “Par-
tition” column and then select
Preview
(see Figure 15). This opens up a file explorer
window where you can navigate through the files and folders on the disk.

Home
Returns to the root of the partition that you are Previewing.
Reload
Refreshes the “Directory” list in order to give updated information.
Search
Opens a “Search” dialog that allows you to perform keyword searches for
subdirectories or file content that exist within the current subdirectory.
View
Opens the selected file. Images and PDF files will open in a preview window.
Other files will open a dialog box to download the file to your computer.
HexView
Opens the file in the Ditto Forensic FieldStation’s built-in hexadecimal viewer.
Download
Opens a dialog box to download the selected file to your computer.
About...
Displays information about the engine used to preview disks.
Show Directories
Toggleable switch that hides or shows directories in the “Directory” list.
