1. Warnings and Notices
Please read the following before beginning installation.
ThemaincircuitboardoftheHDDcarrierissusceptibletostaticelectricity.Proper
groundingisstronglyrecommendedtopreventelectricaldamagetotheenclosureorother
connecteddevices,includingthecomputerhost.Avoidalldramaticmovement,vibrationand
percussion.
AvoidplacingtheHDDcarrierclosetomagneticdevices,highvoltagedevices,orneara
heatsource,includinganyplacewheretheproductwillbesubjecttodirectsunlight.Do
NOTallowwatertomakecontactwiththecarrierorreceivingframe.
2. Operating Your DE50 USB-to-IDE Docking Station
2.1 Bus Power
a.TaketheprovidedUSBsplitcableoutoftheboxandinserttheUSBBplugintothe
frontofthecarrierandthetwoUSBAplugsintotwofreeUSBportsonthecomputer
tobus-powertheunit.
b.InserttheDE50drivecarrier(soldseparately)intothedockingstationbycarefully
slidingthecarrierrearwarduntilthecarriermateswiththedockingstation.The
dockingstationwillautomaticallypowerthedrive.
Product Warranty
CRU-DataPort(CRU)warrantsthisproducttobefreeofsignificantdefectsinmaterialandworkmanshipforaperiodofoneyearfromtheoriginaldateofpurchase.
CRU’swarrantyisnontransferableandislimitedtotheoriginalpurchaser.
Limitation of Liability
Thewarrantiessetforthinthisagreementreplaceallotherwarranties.CRUexpresslydisclaimsallotherwarranties,includingbutnotlimitedto,theimpliedwar-
rantiesofmerchantabilityandfitnessforaparticularpurposeandnon-infringementofthird-partyrightswithrespecttothedocumentationandhardware.NoCRU
dealer,agent,oremployeeisauthorizedtomakeanymodification,extension,oradditiontothiswarranty.InnoeventwillCRUoritssuppliersbeliableforanycosts
ofprocurementofsubstituteproductsorservices,lostprofits,lossofinformationordata,computermalfunction,oranyotherspecial,indirect,consequential,or
incidentaldamagesarisinginanywayoutofthesaleof,useof,orinabilitytouseanyCRUproductorservice,evenifCRUhasbeenadvisedofthepossibilityofsuch
damages.InnocaseshallCRU’sliabilityexceedtheactualmoneypaidfortheproductsatissue.CRUreservestherighttomakemodificationsandadditionstothis
productwithoutnoticeortakingonadditionalliability.

1. Ensurethatthecaseofyourattacheddriveisgrounded.
2. UseadatacablewithRFIreducingferritesoneachend.
3. UseapowersupplywithanRFIreducingferriteapproximately5inchesfromtheDCplug.
4. Reorientorrelocatethereceivingantenna.
