BRUSH TRI-BLADE SHARPENING
(Fig. 37)

The 3 point, 10 inch blade is reversible. When the

cutting edge on one side becomes dull, turn the blade

over, ^hen both sides of cutting edges become dull,

the blade may be resharpened.

Check blades for flatness periodically. Lay the

blade on aflat surface and inspect the blade for flatness
before sharpening. Throw away any blade that is not
flat.

RIe or grind each edge in the same manner to

maintain a balanced blade. Balance can be checked
by hanging the blade on a nail at ttireé positions allow­
ing each point td face nordi. If the blade rotates at any

time, ft is not balanced; therefore, file the heawer edge.

ME LIMITER

When the cutting edge on one side becomes dull, turn

ttie blade over.

When both sides of cuttirig edges become dull, sharp­
en with a flat file.

The line limiter can be shaipened-whiie.attached to the
plastic line trimmer shield.

Avoid damage to the plastic shield while sharpening the
limiter blade.

SAW BLADE SHARPENING (Fig. 38)

(^eck blades for flatness penodically. Lay the

blade on a flatsurface and inspect the blade for flatness

before sharpening. Throw away any blade that is not

flat

« RIe or grind each edge in the same manner to

maintain a balanced blade. Balance can be checked

by hanging the blade on a nail at two positions, 90 de­

“ grees apart If the blade rotates at any time, then it is

not balanced; therefore, file the heavier edge.

If abnormal vibration occurs after blade sharpen­

ing, stop the unit, remove the blade from the unit, and
recheck blade balance.
