Browser Support
The
DAX-‐16
uses
new
features
of
HTML5.
It
streams
audio
using
ADPCM,
which
results
in
25%
of
the
bandwidth
required
for
PCM.
It
also
streams
audio
using
PCM
if
bandwidth
is
available.
The
DAX-‐16
uses
the
“range”
control
on
the
audio
configuration
page
for
setting
output
trim
levels.
Different
browsers
support
range
in
different
ways.
The
DAX-‐16
works
well
with
most
modern
web
browsers.
The
table
below
lists
the
characteristics
of
several
browsers
when
operating
the
DAX-‐16.
The
DAX-‐16
decodes
ADPCM
in
javascript
on
most
browsers
so
no
plugin
is
required.
Browsers
that
cannot
decode
ADPCM
in
javascript
will
generally
be
able
to
decode
it
with
a
plugin
(such
as
QuickTime
or
VLC).
