SUUNTO recommends that flying be avoided until all the DAN and UHMS guide-
lines and the Spyder wait to fly conditions are satisfied.
WARNING!
THERE CAN NEVER BE A FLYING AFTER DIVING RULE THAT IS GUARA-
NTEED TO PREVENT DECOMPRESSION SICKNESS COMPLETELY!
4.5 HIGH ALTITUDE DIVES AND PERSONAL ADJUSTMENT
The Spyder can be adjusted for increasing the conservatism of the mathematical
nitrogen model and for diving at altitude.
WARNING!
SET THE CORRECT ALTITUDE ADJUSTMENT MODE! When diving at alti-
tudes greater than 700 m [2300 ft] the Altitude Adjustment feature must be cor-
rectly selected in order for the computer to calculate no-decompression status.
Failure to properly select the Altitude Adjustment Mode correctly will result in
erroneous data and can greatly increase the risk of DCS.
WARNING!
THE SPYDER IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE AT ALTITUDES GREATER
THAN 2400 m [8000 ft]! Diving at altitudes above this limit may significantly
increase the risk of DCS.
Traveling to a higher elevation can temporarily cause a change in the equilibrium
of dissolved nitrogen in the body with the surroundings. It is recommended that
