turn on showing mostly figure 8’s and graphical
elements (Fig. 4.4). A few seconds later the bat-
tery power indicator is shown and the backlight
and the buzzer are activated (Fig. 4.5, display a,
b, c, d or e, depending on the battery voltage).
Next, the screen will display SURF for Surface
Mode (Fig. 4.6) and a few seconds later it will show
the Ready display confirming that the acti-
vation is complete (Fig. 4.7).
