CD Printing Techniques Section
The Spectrum2 CD Printer offers a convenient way to print labels on CDs, this section
describes ways to get the best possible printouts within the printer's labeling capabilities.
•
The Spectrum2 Printer automatically selects default print density setting, (lightness or
darkness of print) which is called the Strobe Setting based on what type of ribbon is
installed in the printer (black or full color) and on the print mode (300 DPI or 600
DPI mode). In general, the default settings will work for a wide range of labels,
however some types of CD media may require adjusting the Strobe Setting to a lower
range (for lighter label) or for high range (darker label).
•
Create text in Spectrum2 Designer program and use one of the seven primary colors
for text.
•
Graphics files from Photo or Paint type programs should be saved at either 300 or 600
DPI.
•
Graphics files taken from websites typically are set at 72 DPI resolution and may look
smaller than expected when added to a CD Label design that is printing at 300DPI or
600 DPI.
Please see the following CD Printing Techniques Chart for more detailed
information on CD Label printing techniques.
