Handheld Batteries
It is strongly recommended that two battery packs be
used in the handheld. This should provide approximately
six hours of continuous operation.
GpS Receiver Operation
Support for the precision GPS receiver in the RTK GPS
expansion pack is provided by the application software
supplier. Please consult the document provided by your
application software provider for the proper operation of
the GPS receiver with your specific application software.
The GPS receiver uses COM port 7 and COM port 8 with a
default of 9600 baud, 8 data, no parity, 1 stop bit.
GPS Antenna
We recommend that you use the Novatel antenna model
702-GGL.
There are two models, one for North America and one for
international use. The North American antenna supports
850 Mhz and 1900 Mhz frequencies, and is marked with
three horizontal bands at the base of the antenna. The
international antenna supports 900 Mhz and 1800 Mhz
frequencies, and is marked with four horizontal bands.
Please consult with your carrier services provider to
confirm the proper frequencies. Use of an incorrect
antenna may impact range and power performance.
