Chapter 12 Data Communication
Data Communications Between Two PV Units
This section describes how to set up and communicate between two PV Units.
• You must purchase a separately available SB-305 serial cable, and SB-90
connector/cable set to connect two PV Units.
To connect two PV Units
1. Make sure that the power of both units is turned off.
2. Connect the cable to the cable connectors of each of the PV Units as
described below.
• Connect the optional SB-305 serial cable to your PV-S1600.
• Connect the cable that comes with the other PV Unit to the other PV
Unit.
3. Use an optional SB-90 9-9 pin connector to connect the two cables to
each other.
• All data communication settings must be made on one of the PV Units
only. This unit is called the host unit, while the other unit is called the
terminal unit.
