3.2 RTM8400
The Rear Transition Module RTM8400 is designed for operation with the AT8402. The
RTM8400 provides management access and extended I/O capabilities to the front board.
The RTM8400 has two connectors (P30 and P31), each with 40 differential pairs which contact
the corresponding counterparts on the AT8402 (J30 and J31). The connector pinning can be
found in section 3.1.8.
Following interfaces are offered by the RTM8400 for operation with the AT8402:
• RS232 management interface
• FE management interface
• Two GbE ports (connected to the front board GbE switch)
• Four SAS/SATA channels
• JTAG connectors
Maximum power dissipation of the RTM8400 is 2W. All active components are supplied by
3V3_SUS.
