B.2 SERIAL PORT MODES

B.2.1 DEMAND MODE

The scale provides a full duplex, demand serial transmission mode. This mode is

configured in the A3 sub-menu of the User Menu. See Chapter 5 for more

information. The demand mode allows control from a host device, such as

a PC, and can also be activated by pressing the PRINT key on the scale’s

front panel. Figure B-2 shows a suggested cable diagram for interface to a

PC.

Demand mode is also used when interfacing to a serial printer. Figure B-3 shows a

suggested cable diagram for interface to a serial printer.

Figure B-4 shows the serial output data format for demand mode when a PRINT command

is issued to the scale.
