Chapter 2 Operating the DVR unit
2.1 The Way to Operate DVR
 Using mouse and keyboard
Connecting the mouse and keyboard through USB interface, user can manage the DVR unit easily.
For the first time using DVR unit, mouse and keyboard is the best way to set up all DVR relevant
configurations.
2.2 First Time Using the DVR Unit
For the first time using the DVR server, user needs to setup the connection between DVR server
and Wireless IP cameras.
Please confirm the following items before connecting with the DVR server and IP cameras.
 Make sure the HDD is installed inside the DVR unit.
 Make sure the antennas are installed on the DVR unit.
 Make sure all the connecting devices are well connected with the DVR unit and have their
own power supply.
 Make sure the DVR unit is connected on your network and power on.
 Make sure the IP cameras are power on.
 Please make sure the DVR unit and IP camera are in communication area.
 For get better wireless communication and stability, do not use the DVR unit around following devices.
- Microwave ovens.
- Wireless transmitters (radio transmitters, cellular transmitters, etc.)
- Wireless devices which operate at 2.4 GHz (security equipment, Bluetooth, Zigbee, cordless
telephones, etc.)
 Wireless communication range and quality may be affected if the following types of objects are
located between or near the DVR unit and other wireless devices connected to the DVR unit.
- Metal door shutters
- Walls made of concrete, stone, or brick, or walls which contain aluminum based heat insulation
- Multiple walls
- Fire doors and glass
- Steel racks or shelves
 Place cameras and the DVR unit at least 2 m (6.5 ft.) away from radios. Do not connect cameras
and the DVR unit to a power outlet used by a radio.
 Maximum wireless communication range is 30 m in case that there are no obstacles between
camera(s) and AVerDiGi EXR6004 WiFi
 The DVR system starts up will take a while, please be patient and wait.
