Maintenance information and
precautions
• Keep the POWER switch set to OFF when not
using the camcorder,
• Do not wrap up the camcorder and operate it
since heat may build up internallv.
• Keep the camcorder awav from strong
magnetic fields or mechanical \’ibration.
• Do not push the LCD screen.
• If the camcorder is used in a cold place, a
residual image may appear on the LCD screen.
This is not a mulfunction.
• While using the camcorcier, the back of the LCD
screen may heat up. This is not a mulfunction.
On handling tapes
• Do not insert anything in the small holes on the
cassette.
• Do not open the tape protect cover or touch the
tape.
• Avoid touching or damaging the terminals. To
remove dust, clean the terminals with a soft
cloth.
Camcorder care
• When the camcorder is not to be used for a long
time, disconnect the power source and remove
the cassette. Periodically turn on the power,
operate the camera and VTR sections and play
back a tape for about 3 minutes.
• Clean the lens with a soft brush to remove dust.
Lf there are fingerprints on the lens, remove
them with a soft cloth.
• If there are fingerprints on the LCD screen,
remove them using an LCD cleaning kit (not
supplied).
• Clean the camcorder body with a dry soft cloth,
or a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild
detergent solution. Do not use any type of
solvent which may damage the finish.
• Do not let sand get into the camcorder. When
you use the camcorder on a sandy beach or in a
dusty place, protect it from the sand or dust.
Sand or dust may cause the unit to malfunction,
and sometimes this malfunction cannot be
repaired.

LCD. Esto no es un fallo de funcionamiento.
Manipulación de las cintas
• No inserte nada en los orificios pequeños del
videocassette.
• No abra la cubierta de protección de la cinta ni
toque la cinta.
• Evite tocar o dañar los terminales. Para eliminar
el polvo, limpie los terminales con un paño
suave.
Cuidados de la videocámara
•SI no va a utilizar la videocámara durante
bastante tiempo, desconecte la fuente de
alimentación y extraiga el videocassette. Active
la alimentación periódicamente, utilice la
videocámara en los modos de cámara y
reproductor y reproduzca una cinta durante
unos 3 minutos.
• Limpie el objetivo con un paño suave para
eliminar el polvo. Si hay huellas dactilares en el
objetivo, elimínelas con un paño suave.
• Si hay huellas dactilares en la pantalla LCD,
elimínelas utilizando un kit de limpieza de LCD
(no suministrado).
• Limpie la superficie de la videocámara con un
paño suave seco o ligeramente humedecido con
un detergente que no sea fuerte. No utilice
ningún tipo de disolvente que pueda dañar la
superficie.
• No permita que se introduzca arena en la
videocámara. Si utiliza la videocámara en la
playa o en un lugar con bastante polvo, proteja
la videocámara de la arena o el polvo, ya que
pueden producirse fallos de funcionamiento en
la unidad que a veces no pueden repararse.
