8. Remove the filler panel if one is present.
9. If a PCI card is installed, remove the card by grasping it by its back corners and easing it out of the connector on the
PCI interface board.
10. To install a PCI card:

It is recommended that you install PCI expansion cards purchased from Dell. Dell does not guarantee
functionality of non-Dell PCI cards.

PCI expansion card
a. To avoid damaging the connector pins, ensure the keying on the card edge connector is aligned with the PCI
interface connector, and then insert the card edge connector into the PCI interface connector.
b. Gently rock the card from side to side into the connector until the card is fully seated.
11. Install the screw you removed in
to secure the PCI card bracket.
12. To replace the PCI expansion-card cover on the back of the expansion station, insert the securing tabs into their slot at
the front end of the cover, and then snap the back end of the cover into place.
13. If you removed PCI expansion-card cover on the back of the expansion station in
, replace it now.
14. Reconnect the cables—including the AC power cable—that you detached in
15. Dock your computer.
16. Turn on the computer.
17. Install the drivers for the PCI card. (If you are using a PCI card that was not purchased from Dell, use the drivers and
instructions provided by the manufacturers of the card.)
