INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS
D-tab Mounting Kit for use with Wedge Mount Mirrors
(Kit part number 9002-6112)
Please read thoroughly before starting installation
and check against photo that kit contents are complete.
Items Included in the Kit: Tools & Supplies Needed:
Ampule containing Activator – Part A
Tube containing Adhesive – Part B
Zip lock bag containing:
D-tab for Wedge Mount Mirror
These Instructions
Rubbing Alcohol
Crayon/Marking Pen
Safety Razor Blade
Measuring Tape (optional)
IMPORTANT: Must use Part A before Part B!
This adhesive is NOT recommended for plastic D-tabs.
Installation Safety Precautions:
•
Work in a well ventilated area that is clear of obstructions.
•
Secure vehicle with tire chucks in both front and rear of tires.
•
Wear safety goggles and snug fitting clothes.
•
Use tools only for their intended purpose and which are in good repair.
•
Only perform task if confidence, skill, and physical ability permit.
Step 1: If installing the D-tab to a vehicle that came without a wedge mount mirror or a new windshield lacking a D-tab,
use a measuring tape to determine the desired location of the mirror and mark OUTSIDE of the windshield with a crayon
or marking pen.
Step 2: Thoroughly scrape inside windshield glass with a safety razor blade to remove any old adhesive. Wipe clean with
rubbing alcohol.
Step 3: Remove paper sleeve from Part A – Activator Ampule to expose the felt tip. Squeeze the end containing the fluid
until vial inside breaks, releasing Activator into the felt tip. Remove paper sleeve.
Step 4: Use Part A – Activator to coat the small side of the D-tab (see photo at right) and
the inside of the windshield where the D-tab is to be mounted. Allow Activator to dry for 5
minutes. DO NOT TOUCH D-tab or glass.
Step 5: Cut or break the cap off Part B – Adhesive. Coat the small side of the D-tab with
Adhesive.
Step 6: Taking care to make sure the D-tab is right side up, immediately apply D-tab to the
windshield and hold firmly for 1 minute. IMPORTANT: Allow to set for 15 minutes.
Step 7: Slide mirror onto D-tab. If installing a Brandmotion mirror, use a T-20 Torx driver to
torque the mirror screw to 1.8 Nm (16 lb-in) and do not exceed 2.2 Nm (19.5 lb-in). Follow
manufacturer’s specs for attaching and torquing a non-Brandmotion mirror.

ADHESIVE: Contains acrylic acid and methacrylate ester. Avoid eye and skin contact. FIRST AID TREATMENT: In case of eye contact, flush with water for
15 minutes; call a physician. For skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.
