Section 6A: Remove the compass circuit board (Steps 23 thru 26 in complete kit
instructions). Only required if your compass displayed (- -) when the mirror
connector was unplugged.
23-26.
Remove compass circuit board from mirror, wrap circuit board with supplied foam and
cut mirror connector off leaving 2” of wires.
Section 6B: Wiring vehicles with 7-pin mirror connector (Steps 27 thru 31 in
complete kit instructions)
27-28.
Splice seven loose wires near the black 16-pin connector of the supplied interior
harness to vehicle mirror harness per Diagram A1.
29-30.
If you removed the compass circuit board, per section 6A, splice the five loose wires
near the white 6-pin connector on the supplied interior harness to vehicle mirror
harness per Diagram A1.
31.
If you did not remove the compass circuit board, isolate the five loose wires with
electrical tape. IMPORTANT: If reverse signal does not exist in pin 2 of 7-pin mirror
C911 connector, then follow directions in Section 7 to connect reverse.
Section 6C: Wiring for vehicles with 16-pin mirror connector (Steps 32 thru 38 in
complete kit instructions)
32-34.
Splice six of seven loose wires near the black 16-pin connector of the supplied interior
harness to vehicle mirror harness per Diagram A2. (Note: Isolate the red wire with
electrical tape as it will not be used).
35-37.
If you removed the compass circuit board, per section 6A, splice the four of five loose
wires near the white 6-pin connector on the supplied interior harness to vehicle mirror
harness per Diagram A16. (Note: Isolate the red wire with electrical tape as it will not
be used).
38.
If you did not remove the compass circuit board, isolate the five loose wires with
electrical tape. IMPORTANT: If reverse signal does not exist in pin 9 of 16-pin mirror
C9039 connector, then follow directions in Section 7 to connect reverse.
Section 6D: Relocate the compass circuit board (Steps 39 thru 44 in complete kit
instructions). Only required if your compass displayed (- -) when the mirror
connector was unplugged.
39-40.
Solder all connections and cover with heat shrink. Plug the removed mirror connector
into the compass circuit board.
41.
Remove the driver’s side knee bolster and the reinforcement.
43-44.
Place the compass circuit board as shown in figure 30 of the complete instructions.
Section 7: Wiring Required for Inside Mirrors without Auto Dimming (if required) -
(Steps 45 thru 50 in complete kit instructions)
45.
Remove the passenger side door sill plate with a trim tool and remove passenger side
kick panel with hands, just disengaging the two clips from the sheet metal.
46.
Isolate the seven wires near the black 16-pin mirror connector on the supplied interior
harness with electrical tape along with the red and yellow wires near the white 6-pin
connector.
47.
Route the supplied interior harness green, pink, and black wires along the vehicle
cross dash harness. Secure using wire ties wherever possible at 2 inch intervals.
48.
Splice the green reverse wire from the supplied interior harness white 6-pin connector
end to the wire listed in Diagram A3 depending on model.
49.
Splice the pink ignition wire from the supplied interior harness white 6-pin connector end
to the wire listed in Diagram A3 depending on model.
50.
Attach the black ground wire eyelet from the supplied interior harness white 6-pin
connector end to sheet metal in the passenger side kick panel with a screw using an
8mm socket.
Section 8: Install Supplied Mirror - (Steps 51 thru 53 in complete kit instructions)
51.
Plug the 16-pin connector from the supplied interior harness into the supplied mirror.
52.
Install the supplied mirror on the mounting button and slide it downwards. Secure by
tightening the T20 Torx screw to 1.8 Nm (16 lb-in.), while not exceeding 2.2 Nm (19.5
lb-in.).
53.
If equipped, reinstall Rain Sensor, modified per Section 3.
Section 9: Install Chassis Harness - (Steps 54 thru 67 in complete kit instructions)
54-56. Remove the driver side sill plate with a trim tool, loosen driver side A-pillar molding,
remove the driver side lower kick panel, and pull back carpet in front of driver’s seat.
57.
Secure Super Duty template 1008-9100-01 or F-150 template 1008-9100-02 over
opening in front of driver’s seat.
58-60. Center punch and drill a pilot hole, drill a 1 inch hole with a center hole saw, clean edges
with a deburring tool, and apply supplied Z-tech.
61.
Route the supplied chassis harness through the drilled opening and seat the grommet
from the inside of vehicle.
62.
Route the supplied chassis harness toward the supplied interior harness and connect
together.
63-64. Route the exterior portion of the supplied chassis harness along existing vehicle chassis
harness and over fuel tank. Using supplied tie wraps, secure the harness to existing
wiring at 2” intervals. Loop any excess and secure.
65.
Plug the chassis harness into the camera harness.
66.
Start vehicle with foot on brake and shift into reverse to check camera operation.
67.
Reinstall all previously removed interior and exterior parts.
Section 10D: Relocate the Compass Circuit Board for vehicles with External Compass
Module (if required) – (Steps 68 thru 74 in complete kit instructions)
68- 69. Remove the compass module from the existing interior mirror by sliding it downwards,
and unplug compass module connector.
70-71. Pry the compass apart with a screwdriver and remove the circuit board from the
compass module.
72.
Wrap the circuit board in the supplied foam and cut an opening for connector terminal.
73.
Plug the compass module connector into the circuit board.
74.
Install the compass module circuit board between underneath the headliner; connector
should face up, to the rear, and to the right.
Section 10E: Vehicles with Sync Microphone in Mirror (if equipped) – (Steps 75 thru 76
in complete kit instructions)
75.
Splice the supplied interior harness to the vehicle mirror harness following the steps in
the complete kit instructions and Diagram A7. Isolate unused black, green, and pink
wires with electrical tape.
76.
Place the microphone in a convenient place on A-pillar or in headliner.
