90 Troubleshooting
Network Status Indicator
The bicolor (green/red) network status indicator (NET) provides
troubleshooting information about the DeviceNet channel
communication link.
Numeric Display Code
Summary
The 1747-SDN module uses numeric codes to display diagnostic
information about its status. The display flashes at one second
intervals. The following table summarizes the meanings of the
numeric codes.

The device has no power or the channel is
disabled for communication due to bus off
condition, loss of network power, or has been
intentionally disabled.
The channel is disabled for
DeviceNet communication.
Power-up the module, provide
network power to the channel, and
be sure the channel is enabled in
both the module configuration table
and the module command word.
Green
Normal operation.
All slave devices in the scanlist
table are communicating
normally with the module.
None.
Flashing Green The two-digit numeric display for the channel
indicates an error code that provides more
information about the condition of the channel.
The channel is enabled but no
communication is occurring.
Configure the scanlist table for the
channel to add devices.
Flashing Red
The two-digit numeric display for the channel
displays an error code that provides more
information about the condition of the channel.
At least one of the slave devices
in the module’s scanlist table
has failed to communicate with
the module.
Examine the failed device and the
scanlist table for accuracy.
Red
The communication channel has failed. The two
digit numeric display for the channel displays
an error code that provides more information
about the condition of the channel.
The module may be defective.
Reset module. If failures continue,
replace module.
