13. Remove starter heat shield, unbolt the starter.
14. Put left header up thru the bottom and slide it down over the lower manifold bolts.
DO NOT Tighten bolts.
15. Lower motor down.
16. Reinstall starter and starter shield.
17. Install the rest of the left manifold bolts and tighten.
18. Install drive shaft and left O2 sensor and short extension.
19. Jack up the passenger (right) side of the motor.
20. Put right header in from bottom, side it down over lower manifold bolts, install top
bolts. DO NOT Tighten bolts.
21. Lower the motor back down, tighten the motor mounts and tighten the right side
header bolts.
22. Install right O2 sensor.
23. Now to install the lead pipes and converters. The pipe with the 90 degree bend goes
onto the left side header- take the pipe with the stainless rod welded to it and slide it
onto the 90 degree pipe. Put two clamps on the 90 degree pipe and install both pieces
as a unit. Put rod into the hanger on the side of transfer case first, then slide 90
degree pipe onto header.
24. Put two clamps on right head pipe and put it on right header.
25. Measure in 2” on end of each head pipe and make a mark completely around the pipe.
This mark is where your converters need to line up with mating pipes when
assembled.
26. Attach the short bends with flanges to the catalytic converters (or cat eliminator
pipes) with one clamp each. Slide the converters onto head pipes along with one
clamp on each one; the converter with the big bend goes on the passenger side.
27. Assemble the header pipes to exhaust system with supplied hardware (SS nuts, bolts
and washers) - twist converters so flares line up squarely and tighten bolts.
28. Install rear O2 extensions and O2 sensors. Short extension -left header, long
extensions - rear O2’s.
29. Run vehicle for 15 minutes, and retighten all clamps.
