4.1 Creating a backup

How to carry out a backup:
1. Connect the USB stick to the Engineering PC.
2. Start »Backup & Restore« on the Engineering PC.
3. Select the USB stick.
4. Select the Backup tab.
5. Assign backup name in the input field (length: 2-16 characters)

6. Press Start.
The control file is written to the USB stick.
7. Remove the USB stick from the Engineering PC and connect it to the controller on which the
backup is to be carried out.
8. Restart controller (with connected USB stick) by mains switching.
• Contollers in Windows CE systems are automatically restarted.
• The backup data are saved to the \Backup subdirectory on the USB stick after successful
write operation.
9. After the boot-up of the controller: Remove the USB stick from the controller.
