5.3. Method Data Logging
The Data Log button, located on the Method Progress window,
provides you with the option of exporting the data resulting from the
previously executed method.
This button is only enabled for methods for which data has been
generated, that is, only for stopped methods.
When the Data Log button is pressed, a Save as dialog is provided
to select the destination folder and file name for the exported data.
Three different files are created with the same name but different
extensions:
• Excel report (*.xls) : see 5.3.1
• Bitmap report (*.bmp) : see 5.3.2
• Experimental notes (*.txt) : see 5.3.3
5.3.1. Excel report
Before exporting a data log, make sure that Microsoft® Excel® 97
or higher is correctly installed on your computer. If it is not installed,
an Excel report will not be generated.
A Microsoft® Excel® file is generated including three different data sheets
that can be found on 3 separate tabs located in the bottom-left corner of
Excel:
• General
This data sheet includes the following information arranged in rows:
o Start time
o Name of the method executed
o Pump, rack and syringe models used
o Total duration of the method execution (in format hh:mm:ss)
o Total volume infused (accumulated positive flows)
o Total volume withdrawn (accumulated negative flows)
o Total volume disposed by the method (difference between infused
and withdrawn)
o Flow units considered
