3 Preparing Transmitter

3.1

Inserting/changing the battery

Voltage supply to the transmitter is provided by a lithium battery 3.6 V, 2.2 Ah (sales no. 90/
00525539), which is included as standard procedure. It must be inserted prior to startup.
Battery service life depends on the set transmission interval and the ambient temperature. The
life span lasts approx. one year with the factory-set values (transmission interval 20 s) and
room temperature 25 °C.

DANGER!
Non-authorized batteries jeopardize safety.
Potentially explosive atmospheres can be ignited by non-authorized batteries.
Only use the preconfigured lithium battery with 3.6 V, 2.2 Ah
that is available in the accessories (sales no. 90/00525539).
If non-authorized batteries are used then Ex approval becomes null and void.
The lithium battery should not be charged!

TIP!
Changing batteries in the Ex area is permissible. However, the packaging must remain out-
side of the Ex area!

CAUTION!
Make sure that contaminants, moisture, and steam cannot enter the device.
The device could be destroyed.
When inserting/changing the preconfigured lithium battery make sure that the device is not
exposed to contaminants, moisture, and steam.

CAUTION!
Incorrect battery polarity
If polarity is incorrect, the transmitter will be irreparably damaged.
Make sure that the poles are correctly connected.
