Transferring Balancer
Upgrades
Before you begin, be sure to download the latest bal-
ancer software upgrades, available at the Hennessy
Service Center web site, onto you PC to use with the
FMWLOAD software.
Using FMWLOAD software with the Serial
Loader
23. First put the
Flash Memory Card
into the slot on the
Serial Loader. Use this
card to download bal-
ancer upgrade files
from your PC.
24. Now connect the Serial Loader to the PC.
25. Click START, and then click the FMWload pro-
gram under the Programs, FMWload fly-out menu.
Important: Make sure “Auto Detect” is selected
from the PORT pull down menu.
26. Click FILE SELECT to locate a balancer upgrade
file (ex; M2037.BL) that is on your PC, then click LOAD.
27. Click LOAD to start the file download onto the
Flash Memory Card in the Serial Loader.
28. When the download is 100% complete, remove
the Flash Memory Card from the Serial Loader. If
desired, insert a new Flash Memory Card and then
select LOAD again to make a new download. Be sure
to write the file name on the flash memory card for
easy reference.
Using Serial Loader with PCB
Note: When using the Serial Loader to upload
Balancer Upgrade firmware, it automatically sets the
jumper on the PCB to the “upgrade state”.
Note: Identify whether the PCB is 12-bit or 16-bit by
the part number on the upper left corner, as follows:
12-bit = 67D51275, 16-bit = 67D59923
29. Switch PCB (balancer machine) OFF.
30. Insert the Flash Memory Card (with desired bal-
ancer upgrade file to upload) into the Serial Loader.
31. Connect the Serial Loader to the PCB using the
10 wire flat-cable.
32. Switch the PCB (balancer machine) ON; this will
switch the Serial Loader on as well.
33. Wait until the upload is complete (refer to the
Serial Loader LED Status List).
34. At the end of the upload (full green bar appears
on the balancer screen) first switch the PCB (balancer
machine) OFF; then disconnect the Serial Loader.
Starting New Program in Balancer
35. Switch the balancer ON while continually hold-
ing MENU button down. When the NOVRAM RESET
screen appears, press HELP button to reset NOVRAM.
36. Press MENU and verify (at top of screen in red
bar) that the software version just loaded is correct.
37. Proceed with setup and calibration of the
machine for operation.
Serial Loader LED Status List
The Serial Loader has a 2-color LED to show its state:
PC to Serial Loader connection (USB cable)
Serial Loader to PCB connection (10 wire flat-cable)
