Conversion Instructions
Phase-3 to Phase-1
for the COATS IBS 2000

Disconnect unit from electric power source
before performing any service on the com-
ponents. When the unit is plugged in, high
voltages are present inside the unit, creat-
ing the risk of serious electric shock or
lethal electrocution.
Tools Required
• #2 Phillips Screwdriver
• 1/4 inch Flathead Screwdriver
• 3/8 inch Nutdriver
• Wire Cutters
Instructions
1. Turn the balancer off and unplug it from the
power source.
2. Remove the weight tray and fire shield.
3. Install the capacitor assembly (part no. 112356, in
the conversion kit) using the provided hardware (part
no. 112357).
4. Remove the green connector from the motor
control printed circuit board (PCB), location P4.
5. Plug the green connector from the new capacitor
assembly into the motor control PCB at location P4.
6. Rewire the power cord with the single-phase
plug (part no. 305076) and configure the internal
wiring according to the diagram.
Note: Cut the unused wire at both ends of the
power cord.
7. Plug the balancer in and verify correct operation.
IF THE MOTOR SPINS BACKWARDS: Swap any 2
wires at the green connector at location P2 on the
motor control PCB (you will need the flathead screw-
driver for this).
8. Reinstall the fire shield and weight tray.
