Description
Recent findings have shown that Electro-Static
Discharge (ESD) can cause significant damage to a bal-
ancer. The addition of a ground strap will help to
increase the ESD immunity of the balancer. If your bal-
ancer already has the ground strap, verify that it is
making good contact and is installed correctly.
Parts List
#8114104 - PCB Assembly
#8113073 - Ground Strap
Installation
1. Remove the Touch Panel and Printed Circuit Board
(PCB) assembly from the balancer.
2. Disconnect the wires from the PCB.
3. Connect one end of the Ground Strap to the
Balancer Pod Tube, see figure 1. Wiggle the ground
strap to ensure that a good ground connection is made
with the Balancer Pod Tube.
Note: If PCB is already equipped with a ground strap,
simply reconnect to standoff and ensure other end has
a proper connection.
4. Now connect the other end of the ground strap to
the bottom right standoff that is on the backside of the
Touch Panel underneath the PCB, see figure 2.
5. After installation of the ground strap (see figure 3)
is complete, reconnect the wire harness to the PCB,
and reinstall the Touch Panel/PCB assembly on the bal-
ancer.
6. Run the balancer through a complete calibration
to ensure proper operation.
