Content Presentation

Playlists and Annotations

You want to make sure that you’re making it easy for your

viewers to find the content they’re looking for, and

navigate through it

.

Playlists, like metadata descriptions, are one way to

help viewers navigate through your content.

Playlists can also help extend the lifespan of your

content by packaging it with more current videos.

Using links in the description and annotations, direct

viewers to relevant playlists when a story breaks.

Annotations are also a great way to direct viewers to other

content - a single video or a complete playlist - that will

appeal to them on your channel.

Make sure that your annotations do not block the

action in the video; if it is too distracting, it can do

more harm than good.

Avoid having the viewer click away too early in the

video, instead direct them to the next video towards

the end.

You can use annotations for calls to action -- whether

it is subscribe, ‘like,’ share, or leave a comment,

annotations help drive engagement.

Playlist and Annotation Example

/nba

- ‘Griffin’s Big-Time Slam’

For example, if a player is traded, link to a

playlist featuring older videos of that player’s

highlights.
