3.5 Connection to Rackmount Hub Local Units
Remote units are compatible with CAT5 KVM Extender Local Hubs belonging to the same
family:
Remote Units Compatible Local Rack Hubs
ACUR001A, ACUR002A ACU1006RA, ACU1006DRA, ACU1012RA
ACURA001A, ACURA002A ACU1006VRA, ACU1006DVRA
You can use Rack Extender Hubs in a number of ways:
• Individually, connecting a single-head Remote unit to each port (see Figure 8)
• With dual-head Remote units, using adjacent hub ports to transmit the primary
video/data and secondary video signals (see Figure 9).
For more complex examples showing the use of Rack Extender Hubs with Remote units in
efficient ways, see Appendix A: Example Applications, page 47. Additional video channels
do not require the Extender Hub to be of the same family. For example, an ACU1012RA
could be efficiently used to transmit multiple secondary video channels to ACURA002A
units.
Individual Rack Hub operation is not covered in this guide. Please refer to
the documentation supplied with your Rack Hub unit.
