Setting of transmitting Trap to Insight Manager screen
If a fault occurs in a MAGNIA server, it is possible to transmit a SNMP trap to a Compaq Insight
Manager.

Item Explanation
[Trap is transmitted to
InsightManager]
check box
If it is checked, it confirmed this function.
-Event Level- Selects the level of the event transmitted to InsightManager
[Error only] radio button Sends the trap of the error event when the event occurs.
[Warning or more] radio
button
Sends the trap of the warning or error event when the event occurs.
[Set] button Specifies these settings.
Notice In case you use this function, please keep the following conditions.
- The S.E.L. function and the Configure Alerts function of the HEW Agent are needed in a
MAGNIA Server. If these functions of HEW are not installed, please install them.
- In the Configure Alerts screen, you need to specify the following setting.
Logfile : Application, Event Type : Error or Warning, Event Source : “HEWSEL,HEWMB”
- You need to specify the Trap destinations of SNMP Service. In the machine that installed an
Agent function of HEW, please open the SNMP Service Properties, and select the “Traps” tab. In
this screen, please specify the IP address of the machine that installed Insight Manager as a Trap
destination.
