3. Connect an AC Adaptor to the Slim Port Replicator.
AC adaptor
If you frequently transport the computer between different sites such as
your home and office, purchasing an AC adaptor for each location will
reduce the weight and bulk of your carrying load.
USB floppy disk drive
The USB floppy disk drive module can be connected to the USB port. For
details on connecting the USB floppy disk drive module, refer to Chapter 4,
Operating Basics .
External monitor
An external analog monitor can be connected to the external monitor port
on the computer and Slim Port Replicator. The computer supports VGA and
XGA video modes. To connect a monitor, follow the steps below.
1. Turn the computer’s power off.
■ You cannot use a High Capacity 2nd Battery Pack to power a Slim Port
Replicator.
■ You must connect the High Capacity 2nd Battery Pack and an AC
adaptor to the Slim Port Replicator to charge the High Capacity 2nd
Battery Pack.
The Standby feature can be used with an external monitor. Simply enable
Standby and the computer will maintain the data as it is displayed on the
external monitor.
If an external monitor is connected to the computer, do not connect the
Slim Port Replicator. First disconnect the external monitor from the
computer then connect the Slim Port Replicator and use its external
monitor port.
