Chapter 1. General information

This chapter provides some general information about your server.

This chapter contains the following topics:

Introduction

This Installation and User Guide is for your Lenovo® ThinkServer® TD230 server (machine types 1027, 1029,
1039, and 1040). This document contains the following information:

• Setting up and cabling the server

• Starting and configuring the server

• Installing options and replacing customer replaceable units (CRUs)

• Solving problems

The server comes with the ThinkServer EasyStartup DVD to help you configure the hardware, install device
drivers, and install the operating system.

The server comes with a limited warranty. For information about the terms of the warranty and getting
service and assistance, see the Warranty and Support Information on the ThinkServer Documentation DVD
that comes with your server.

To obtain the most up-to-date information about the server and other Lenovo products, go to:
http://www.lenovo.com/thinkserver

Record information about the server in the following table. You will need these information when you
register the server with Lenovo.
