Specifications for setting the parameters
In order to set the parameters, you will require the following
specifications:
ć
the diameter of the drive (see type plate on the drive
used)
ć
the valve type (see type plate on proportional directional
control valve used)
ć
the maximum mass load with which the drive may be
loaded.
Mass moment of inertia
Festo supports you in ascertaining the mass moment of inerĆ
tia with the MTM calculation program (Internet:
http://www.festo.com). This program serves for calculating
the mass moments of inertia of 2nd. grade for various basic
bodies and Festo standard parts (e.g. plug−on flange for
DSMI−...).
Positioning with different mass moments of insertia:
ć
Positioning with a mass moment of inertia up to 30 % less
is usually no problem. Further reduction of the mass moĆ
ment of inertia can lead to worse positioning behaviour
and make optimization necessary (see system manual).
ć
If necessary, place a basic load on the drive, in order to
set a higher mass moment of inertia. Positioning can then
be made with a greater difference in the mass moment of
insertia.
ć
Always set the amplification and cushioning stages for the
maximum mass moment of inertia used.
