GENERAL COMMENTS
A routine maintenance program can extend the life of your pump. Well
maintained equipment will last longer and require fewer repairs. You should keep
maintenance records, this will help pinpoint causes of problems.
Condition Monitoring
For additional safety precautions, and where noted in this manual, condition monitoring devices should
be used.
This includes, but is not limited to:
•
Pressure gauges
•
Flow meters
•
Level indicators
•
Motor load readings
•
Temperature detectors
•
Bearing monitors
•
Leak detectors
•
PumpSmart control system
For assistance in selecting the proper instrumentation and its use, please contact your ITT/Goulds representative.
MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
The preventive maintenance section must
be adhered to in order to keep the
applicable ATEX classification of the
equipment. Failure to follow these
procedures will void the ATEX
classification for the equipment.
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
•
Bearing lubrication
•
Seal monitoring
•
Vibration analysis
•
Discharge pressure
•
Temperature monitoring
Inspection intervals should be shortened
appropriately if the pumpage is abrasive
and/or corrosive, or if the environment is
classified as potentially explosive.
When handling hazardous and / or
toxic fluids, proper personal protective
equipment should be worn. If pump is
being drained, precautions must be
taken to prevent physical injury.
Pumpage must be handled and
disposed of in conformance with
applicable environment regulations.
