1. Make sure the package includes all of the required parts, including:

2. Make sure you have the correct cables for the connection between cascaded

hubs as well as between the network ports on each hub and the attached
devices.

3. Remove each hub to be included in the cascaded hub configuration from its

shipping package and store the box and packing materials in a safe place
in case the unit needs to be transferred in the future.

4. Arrange each AT-MR908TX hub such that the back panel on each hub is

within 5 meters (16.4 feet) of the other.

5. Insert the female end of the power cord into the Power Receptacle on the

back of the unit.

6. Insert the male end of the power cord into the into an electrical output of

the appropriate power.

7. Check the front panels to make sure the green power (PWR) LEDs are

illuminated.

8. As Figure 7 illustrates, Port 1 of Hub A is connected to one of the network

ports (Ports 2-8) on Hub B in the cascaded sequence. To enable the uplink
connection from Port 1, the MDI/MDI-X slide switch must be set to MDI.

9. Port 1 on the last hub in a sequence of cascaded hubs can be used for a

network connection to a node or workstation. The MDI/MDI-X slide switch
on this last hub must be set to MDI-X.

10. Double-check the front of each cascaded hub to make sure all green power

(PWR) LEDs are illuminated.

11. Plug all 100BASE-TX cables into the 100BASE-TX network ports

(connectors) on the back of the units.

12. Plug the opposite end of each 100BASE-TX cable into a network node or

workstation.
