Shutter
The HD camcorder automatically sets the shutter speed depending on the subject brightness. You can also manually
adjust the shutter speed according to the scene conditions.

The HD camcorder automatically sets the appropriate aperture value.

Manual
- In movie record mode, shutter speed can be set to 1/30, 1/60, 1/100, 1/250,
1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000, 1/4000, or 1/10000.
- In photo record mode, shutter speed can be set to 4, 2, 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15,
1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, or 1/1000.

Setting the shutter speed manually
You can set the shutter speed manually. A fast shutter speed can freeze the motion of a
fast moving subject and a slow shutter speed can blur the subject to give the impression of
motion.
• Fast shutter speed allows a fast-moving subject to be captured one frame at a time vividly.
Use these settings when an automatic adjustment does not work well with “Sports”
mode in “Scene Mode (AE).” page 55
