2. Milling
Milling direction
Down-milling is the first choice for most milling operations. In some
cases, when the machine has insufficient power or the workpiece
is very pliable, up-milling is preferred. Remember however that the
cutting force tends to lift the workpiece when up-milling. This must
be carefully counteracted when clamping the workpiece.
