Two types of interconnect modules are available for HP BladeSystem c-Class enclosures: Pass-Thru modules
and switch modules. For more information about interconnect module options, see the HP website
( http://www.hp.com/go/bladesystem/interconnects ).
IMPORTANT: To connect to a network with a Pass-Thru module, always connect the Pass-Thru
module to a network device that supports Gigabit speed.
Installing a workstation blade
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the workstation
blade or the enclosure unless all drive and device bays are populated with either a component or
a blank.
1. If you are installing a workstation blade, remove a device bay blank as shown in the following figure.
If you are installing a workstation blade with the graphics expansion blade, remove two successive
device bay blanks.
