Viewing collector reports
If you are not seeing data returned for the nodes you have created, run the Collector
Errors Report. This can be accessed by:
1. Right-click on the node that isn't returning the data.
2. Select SMRC Reports.
3. Select Data Collection Errors.
Looking at the error messages can often determine the cause of the data not being
displayed. Below are some common examples and what they mean:
Common Collector Errors
Reason
Error querying server
'servername': 9 : Storage
Mirroring server is
incompatible or the version
could not be determined
The SMRC Collector is unable to communicate with
Storage Mirroring on the server. Ensure that Storage
Mirroring is configured on the server and that it is a
supported version by Storage Mirroring.
RPC Server is unavailable
attempting to connect to
\\servername\root\cimv2 via
WMI
Check connectivity and configuration with wbemtest.
Check firewall settings allow connection to server
from SMRC collector.
WMI query on servername
failed
Check connectivity and configuration with wbemtest.
Also happens intermittently when WMI is being used
by another process.
Make sure that DCOM is turned on.
Cannot monitor servers of type
The SMRC Collector checks the product type of the
Storage Mirroring server being monitored. Storage
Mirroring does not allow you to gather data from the
following Storage Mirroring products.

If the collector errors report does not indicate what the problem is, proceed to look at the
