Setting the unit SCSI ID

This configuration menu item sets the host SCSI ID the NonStop server uses to select the
5242-2SE. Values of 0 through 7 can be entered using the Numeric Entry m

ethod

(ID=7 is

reserved for the NonStop server. ID=5 is used for a single drive on a SCSI bus. If 2 drives are
daisy chained, the second drive uses ID=4). No two devices can have the same SCSI ID.

Note:

The ability to independently set the tape drive's SCSI ID and the NonStop server
SCSI ID is useful. As you add devices to a system's SCSI bus, you do not have to
manipulate jumpers or switches on the tape drive. The tape drives ID can be altered
from the tape drives front panel without regard to the actual physical SCSI ID of the
drive itself, making SCSI device additions quick and simple.
