About this Guide
This user's guide describes and provides instructions for using the Auto LUN software.
The term storage system in this guide refers to an HP StorageWorks XP24000 Disk Array.
Intended Audience
This user’s guide assumes that:
• the user has a background in data processing and understands RAID storage systems and their
basic functions,
• the user is familiar with the storage system and the Remote Web Console computer,
• the user has read and understands the HP StorageWorks XP24000 Remote Web Console User’s
Guide, and
• the user is familiar with the operating system and web browser software on the system hosting
the Remote Web Console software.

Conventions for Storage Capacity Values
HP XP storage systems use the following values to calculate physical storage capacity values (hard
disk drives):
• 1 KB (kilobyte) = 1,000 bytes
• 1 MB (megabyte) = 1,000 2 bytes
• 1 GB (gigabyte) = 1,000 3 bytes
