PROBLEM:
The MLMM GUI is hanging at 20%...
SOLUTION:
Possible Reason #1:
Older versions of the MLMM GUI have problems recognizing the TSIQ1 file. When the
MLMM GUI tries to connect to the library, MLMM reports the TSIQ1 file and this causes
the MLMM GUI to hang at 20%. This can be corrected by purging the TSIQ1 file from
your MLMM subvolume.
Possible Reason #2:
The MLMM software was not cycled after an IPL of the library. This can be corrected
by cycling the MLMM software [shutting the GUI down first] after the IPL of the library
has finished and the library is available.
Possible Reason #3:
The MLMM processes were stopped while the MLMM GUI was still up. This could
cause the TCP/IP port to go into a TCP-WAIT or TCP-FIN state. This can be corrected
by waiting for the port to free up [usually after about 5 minutes] or by changing the port
number in the configuration of the MLMM program and the MLMM GUI. This will have
to be done on the Server and Clients both. Proper shutdown of all MLMM GUIclients
before cycling of the MLMM software is the best cure for this situation.
Possible Reason #4:
It could be a security issue on the workstation. If you are running Windows NT or
Windows 2000, you need to have at least Power User rights.

PROBLEM:
The MLMM GUI took my tape drive(s) out of service...
SOLUTION:
MLMM will only take tape drives out of service after the tape library reports an error on
the tape drive, either due to a hardware error on the tape drive or the tape media itself.
This is caused by the tape drive timing out, usually during a dismount. Contact your
local support engineer for assistance in troubleshooting the hardware error.
