Control Path and Data Path Configuration
Control Path and Data Path Configuration
The Mid-Range Library Media Manager solution consists of a Fiber control path,
plugged into an FCSA and then directly to the tape library. The Control path is the path
responsible for tape cartridge movement and library control. The Data path is for tape
drives.
The Data path is connected to an FCSA. The MLMM GUI interface runs on a PC and
uses TCP/IP to communicate with the NonStop system.
Commands sent from the MLMM GUI via TCP/IP are intercepted by the Mid-Range
Library Media Manager process running on the NonStop system. The process then
sends the commands via the control path to the tape library.
