11 Generating reports
The Systems Insight Manager reporting features enable you to generate many different types of
reports. In addition to offering predefined reports, you also can create user-defined custom
reports, and reporting features enable you to edit, copy, and delete any reports you create. All
users with sign-in access to Systems Insight Manager can generate reports.
You have the option to run reports based on a schedule (at a predefined time and frequency)
and you have the option to send the generated report to a predefined recipient through email.
Running reports

Description
From the CMS console management GUI
Opens a report wizard that enables you to create a new report
and add it to the predefined Systems Insight Manager reports.
You can create a report based on events, operating system
information, processor, HP BladeSystem rack, and system license
information.
The report data can be displayed in the form of a bar graph, line
chart, (trend), or pie chart.
The report can be generated in HTML (recommended for viewing),
XML, and CSV formats.

Enables you to create, copy, delete, modify or run reports from
the data in the CMS database.
Reports
→Manage Reports.
Enables you to compare up to four systems (with the same
operating system) to each other or to compare a single system to
itself and observe changes over time.

Enables you to run predefined reports for Systems Insight Manager
and Insight Control. See

Predefined reports for Insight Control
The Reports
→Enhanced Reports... menu item contains predefined reports for Systems Insight
Manager and Insight Control that are based on common user scenarios. The predefined reports
feature is installed, configured, and available for use as soon as Systems Insight Manager is
installed and configured.
The following predefined reports are available for Insight Control
Application software running on server
Licensed and un-licensed servers per product
Licensed software run by each server
Modules in C-class enclosure
Modules in one or more Blade system C-class enclosure
Most frequent events
N Most frequent events
Servers and corresponding VMs
Servers running a particular version of system software
Servers with specific memory or disc drive capacity
Running reports
