Note Internal drives are powered up and down through the host computer.
To switch on an external drive:
1 Switch the drive on using the power switch on the rear panel of the drive.
• The drive performs its self-test, which takes
about 13 seconds.
• At the end, assuming no tape cartridge is in the
drive, the beeper will sound (not on DLT 80
drives) and only the green “Operate Handle”
light will be lit.
2 You are now ready to load a tape cartridge.
